Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 13, 2025

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sunder LLC ("Sunder," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our mobile application, "Thing City" (the "Service").

Your privacy is important to us. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

If you have any questions, please contact us at support@thingcity.net.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve our Service to you.

A. Information You Provide

Account Information: When you create an account by logging in with a third-party service (like Google or Apple), we collect personal information from that provider. This includes your email address, public-facing name, and (if available) your profile picture. We store this information to identify you within the Service.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service. This includes which screens you visit, the features you use, the time and date of your visits, and other diagnostic data. This data is used for analytics and to improve service stability.

Device Data: We automatically collect certain device information, such as your device type, operating system, IP address, and unique device identifiers (including advertising identifiers). This is used for security, monitoring, and to deliver advertisements.

C. Content You Create

Public Content: We collect and store all the text, posts, lists, and other content you create, post, or share on the Service ("User Content").

3. The Public Nature of Your Content

Please be aware that all User Content you post to Thing City is public by default. This content can be viewed, shared, and indexed by other users and the public. You should have no expectation of privacy for any text or information you post within the Service. Please do not post any information you consider private or sensitive.

You may delete your individual User Content at any time. For information on what happens to your content when you delete your account, see Section 6.A.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and secure our Service
  • To identify you as a user and display your profile and content
  • To monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service (analytics)
  • To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms & Conditions
  • To serve targeted advertisements within the Service
  • To respond to your support requests

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal email address to third-party data brokers. However, we may share information in the following ways:

  • Publicly: Your User Content and public profile (name, picture) are visible to everyone
  • With Service Providers: We may share data with third-party vendors who help us operate our Service (e.g., database hosting, analytics providers). They are obligated to protect your data
  • With Advertising Partners: We share device identifiers (like your IP address or advertising ID) with advertising networks to show you targeted ads. This is a common practice referred to as "cross-context behavioral advertising"
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety and rights of Sunder LLC or our users

6. Your Privacy Rights & Choices

You have choices regarding the information we collect and how it's used.

A. Account Deletion & Content

You may delete your account at any time through the settings menu within the Service.

When you request account deletion, your account will first be deactivated for a 30-day grace period, during which it is not visible to the public. If you do not log in during this time, your account and associated personal information (such as your email, name, and profile picture) will be permanently deleted.

Please note this important distinction:

  • Deleting Content: You can delete your individual posts, lists, or other User Content at any time through the Service. This content will be permanently removed.
  • Deleting Your Account: If you delete your account, your User Content (as defined in our Terms of Service) may remain visible on the Service, but it will be disassociated from your profile and anonymized (we remove your username and profile link).

B. California Residents (CCPA Notice)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights. Under the CCPA, "sharing" data for "cross-context behavioral advertising" can be considered a "sale." As we use targeted ads, we provide the following information:

  • We "share" (as defined by CCPA) identifiers (like advertising IDs) with advertising partners
  • You have the right to opt-out of this sharing. You can exercise this right by enabling the "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Opt-out of Ads Personalization" setting on your mobile device

C. European & UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have certain rights, including:

  • The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • The right to restrict or object to our processing of your data.
  • The right to data portability (to receive a copy of your data).

To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@thingcity.net.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We will also retain data as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated data, which cannot be used to identify you, may be kept indefinitely for analytics.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has provided us with data, we will take steps to delete that information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the Service. For material changes, we may provide more prominent notice, such as an in-app notification or an email to you.
